Corey Haim, 80's child actor and star of such classics as The Lost Boys and License to Drive was found dead in his Oakwood, California apartment this morning of an apparent drug overdose. Police sources said Haim's mother was with him at his Oakwood apartment and called 911 after finding him unresponsive. She called 911 at 12:53 am after Haim collapsed while trying to get out of bed. Momsaid Corey had been sick with the flu. LAPD found four prescription bottles near the bed, and non of the medications was for his illness. There have been a handful of celebrities over the years who have died after they got sick, and took a mixture of licit drugs and prescription medications while in their weakened state. Actor and former teen idol Corey Haim has died at the age of 38, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to KTLA.It was only a matter of time unfortunately. The road to adulthood for the child star is frequently a rocky one filled with drugs and disappointments. Haim grew up in the limelight, but whose adult career was spent sadly in search of it. His career declined in 1997, he made a comeback in 2000. He reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center. Haim also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, but cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto. He spent time in rehabilitation center and finally overcome his drug habit. In 2006, he got a big project and that is the reality show called The Two Coreys on the A&E Network with Corey Feldman, who played the role of Edgar Frog in The Lost Boys. He also appeared in Crank 2 as Randy. Corey’s mother, Judy Haim, said:
Haim died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday of an apparent accidental overdose, according to the LAPD's North Hollywood Division.
Coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said an autopsy would determine an official cause of death.
Haim was found unresponsive inside a unit at the Oakwood Apartment Complex, located between Burbank and the Hollywood Hills, police said.
The Canadian-born actor, who has struggled with drug addiction, was pronounced dead Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, police said.
"I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death."
Corey was living at the apartment complex with his mother, because his mother had cancer, and Corey was taking care of her until he got the flu. Haim was pronounced dead at 2:15 AM on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Burbank’s Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in California. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Corey Ian Haim (December 23, 1971 – March 10, 2010) was a Canadian actor, known for a 1980s Hollywood career as a teen idol. He starred or co-starred in a number of films such as Lucas, Murphy's Romance, The Lost Boys, License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. Most notably, he collaborated numerous times with Corey Feldman, the pair being dubbed "The Two Coreys". Haim and Feldman starred in a TV 'reality' show titled The Two Coreys, which aired on the A&E Network from July 2007 to August 2008.
